Cut pile: Still one of the most popular carpets for high-traffic areas. Cut pile achieves its durability through the type of fiber used, density of tufts and the amount of twist in the yarn. Highly twisted yarn will hold its shape longer.
Level loop pile: You may have heard of Berber carpet, this is a fine example of what most Berbers are made from. Here loops are the same height, creating an informal look, and come in many color varieties. This style generally lasts a long time in high-traffic areas. This is a good choice for contemporary to cottage furnishings.
Multi-level loop pile: For the casual style home or office, this look provides great pattern effects and derability. Made with two to three different loop heights.
Cut-loop pile: This type of carpet is great at hiding soil marks and stains with its multi-color effects.
